Dévrig is a hiking guide based in the French Pyrenees, where he spends most of his time on technical and demanding mountain trails. A passion-driven profession, this work has allowed him to develop strong mountain skills, terrain awareness and endurance—key assets in trail running and ultra-trail racing. He studied biology in Rimouski, Québec, where he lived for four years, focusing his research on the Northern gannets of Bonaventure Island. It was during this period, in Percé, that he discovered Québec’s trail running routes and quickly developed a deep connection with this unique environment. Dévrig fell in love with the mud, roots and technical nature of Québec trails, as well as with the mindset and strong sense of community that define the local trail running scene. During his student years, the Ultra-Trail Harricana du Canada (UTHC) was already on his list of dream races, although he never had the opportunity to compete. After several years of careful preparation and progression in mountain terrain, he now believes that 2026 will be the right year to toe the starting line of one of the most demanding ultra-trail races in Canada. For Dévrig, racing the Ultra-Trail Harricana represents the realization of a long-standing dream.
