Originally from Gaspésie, Jean-Michel Landry discovered running at the age of 27 through adventure racing, before naturally transitioning toward long-distance trail running. Drawn to endurance and wild landscapes, he found in ultra-trail a discipline aligned with his mindset.
A thoughtful and composed athlete, Jean-Michel selects his races carefully, lining up for one or two events per year. He seeks demanding, technical courses where the challenge is both physical and mental. For him, running is a personal journey—one of exploration, growth, and self-discovery.
Comfortable with long efforts in remote environments, he moves confidently across isolated terrain. He has notably taken part in the Ultra-Trail Harricana of Canada 125 km, a race he knows well and approaches with humility.
Deeply connected to his Gaspé roots, which he considers his natural playground, Jean-Michel runs to push his limits, explore raw landscapes, and take on challenges that once seemed out of reach.
