Karel is an emerging ultra-trail runner who reached the 100 km milestone in 2025 after several years of steady progression in trail running. Her journey began in 2021 at the Ultra-Trail Harricana of Canada (UTHC), where she lined up for the 28 km—one of her first trail racing experiences—on the demanding trails of Charlevoix, Quebec. Since then, she has returned regularly to this rugged territory that shaped her development.

After five years of endurance and mountain training, she now takes on the iconic UTHC 125 km, a flagship ultra-trail distance in Canada. Her approach is rooted in long-term growth, resilience, and pushing personal limits.

Deeply involved in the trail-running community, Karel organizes events, volunteers, and shares her journey through documentary film projects. Continuously seeking new mountain challenges, she also practices ice climbing, snowboarding, and mountaineering—disciplines that strengthen her versatility and adaptability in ultra-distance trail racing.
