For Laurence Langlais, trail running is first and foremost about community. At 26, the Montreal-based runner is as passionate about racing as she is about volunteering, leading runs and bringing people together within Quebec’s running community.
She discovered trail running only two years ago, but the connection was immediate. What began as a new way to run quickly developed into a fascination with ultra-trail: the discipline, unpredictability and challenge, but above all the solidarity and human connections that emerge on the trails.
Her connection to UTHC, however, began well before her first ultra. Laurence was already attending the event as a spectator and supporter alongside her father, Justin Langlais, a longtime runner and volunteer. In 2025, she finally stepped onto the UTHC 65 km start line herself — and knew she wanted to return.
Deeply involved in the running community, Laurence is a run leader in Montreal and has served as an aid station captain at Quebec Mega Trail for the past four years. Through her platforms, she also shares the highs, lows and lessons of her ultra-running journey with authenticity.
After finishing 2nd at the TransPercé 100 in 2026, Laurence returns to the UTHC 80 km with a simple goal: share her passion and help build a welcoming, inclusive trail community where more women feel inspired to take their place.
