Dévrig is a hiking guide based in the French Pyrenees, where he spends most of his time on technical and demanding mountain trails. A passion-driven profession, this work has allowed him to develop strong mountain skills, terrain awareness and endurance—key assets in trail running and ultra-trail racing. He studied biology in Rimouski, Québec, where he lived for four years, focusing his research on the Northern gannets of Bonaventure Island. It was during this period, in Percé, that he discovered Québec’s trail running routes and quickly developed a deep connection with this unique environment. Dévrig fell in love with the mud, roots and technical nature of Québec trails, as well as with the mindset and strong sense of community that define the local trail running scene. During his student years, the Ultra-Trail Harricana du Canada (UTHC) was already on his list of dream races, although he never had the opportunity to compete. After several years of careful preparation and progression in mountain terrain, he now believes that 2026 will be the right year to toe the starting line of one of the most demanding ultra-trail races in Canada. For Dévrig, racing the Ultra-Trail Harricana represents the realization of a long-standing dream.

For Alexis Richard, endurance has become much more than a way to perform — it has become a lifestyle. A runner since the end of high school, it was only when he began taking endurance training more seriously in recent years that he discovered how deeply sport could transform both his physical health and everyday life.

After marathons and an Ironman, Alexis fell in love with ultra-trail and Quebec’s trails, with Charlevoix now holding a special place in his journey. In 2025, he completed his first UTHC 125 km. That adventure became a documentary in which he shared the effort, doubts and memorable moments without trying to glorify or soften the reality of the experience.

Now 31, the content creator and video producer returns to the 125 km with another year of experience and his first 100-miler under his belt, completing the Canyons Endurance Runs by UTMB in 23:12. His goal is to measure his progress and once again tell the story from the inside.

As an ambassador for healthy, active living, Alexis hopes to demonstrate the ripple effect sport can create. Moving, staying consistent and taking care of yourself can transform your own life — while inspiring others to take their first step.

Laurence Langlais Will participate in UTHC 80 Race details
  • ITRA : 548

26 years old

For Laurence Langlais, trail running is first and foremost about community. At 26, the Montreal-based runner is as passionate about racing as she is about volunteering, leading runs and bringing people together within Quebec’s running community.

She discovered trail running only two years ago, but the connection was immediate. What began as a new way to run quickly developed into a fascination with ultra-trail: the discipline, unpredictability and challenge, but above all the solidarity and human connections that emerge on the trails.

Her connection to UTHC, however, began well before her first ultra. Laurence was already attending the event as a spectator and supporter alongside her father, Justin Langlais, a longtime runner and volunteer. In 2025, she finally stepped onto the UTHC 65 km start line herself — and knew she wanted to return.

Deeply involved in the running community, Laurence is a run leader in Montreal and has served as an aid station captain at Quebec Mega Trail for the past four years. Through her platforms, she also shares the highs, lows and lessons of her ultra-running journey with authenticity.

After finishing 2nd at the TransPercé 100 in 2026, Laurence returns to the UTHC 80 km with a simple goal: share her passion and help build a welcoming, inclusive trail community where more women feel inspired to take their place.

For Marilou Tanguay, UTHC is much more than a race. This is where she discovered trail running in 2021, when she took on the 65 km alongside her father. That first experience quickly turned into a true passion, and she hasn’t missed an edition since.

At 26, the nurse represents a new generation of women finding their place in trail running, both as athletes and engaged members of the community. At UTHC, Marilou has raced the 65 km multiple times, finished 6th in the 80 km in 2023, and has also volunteered as a member of the event’s medical team.

Her commitment extends well beyond the trails of Charlevoix. Through the Fondation du Père Sablon’s Étudiants dans la course program, she volunteers to support youth aged 14 to 17 through months of training toward their first marathon. She also loves encouraging, pacing and crewing for other runners as they pursue their own goals.

After serving as a featured ambassador for the UTHC 65 km in 2025, Marilou returns in 2026 to take on the 80 km, bringing the same energy and desire to share her passion. She embodies a vision of trail running built not only around pushing limits, but also around community, inclusion and supporting more women in the sport.

For Catherine Cormier, the best FKT will always be the “Funniest Known Time.” At 40, this passionate long-distance runner isn’t chasing victories — she runs to go far, push her limits and, above all, have fun along the way.

Her trail-running story began at the UTHC 80 km in 2023. Since then, the adventures have grown longer: QMT 135 km, Transgrancanaria 126 km and, of course, the UTHC 125 km. After a DNF in 2024, Catherine returned the following year to settle some unfinished business, crossing the finish line after 25 hours and 19 minutes. Toolia Ulvik Will participate in UTHC 42 Classic Race details
  • ITRA : 442
  • Sex : Woman

34 years old

For Toolia Ulvik, running in the mountains has become a way to reconnect with what truly matters. A physiotherapist and kinesiologist, the 34-year-old athlete spent years racing marathons and half marathons in Canada and Europe before discovering trail running and immediately falling in love with it.

In 2025, Toolia stood on the starting line of the UTHC 20 km under very different circumstances. Just weeks earlier, she had been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and knew her treatments would begin shortly after the race. That day in the Charlevoix mountains became an opportunity to gather energy, joy and memories before taking on the greatest challenge of her life.

Throughout treatment, Toolia continued to move and run whenever her body allowed. To her, the road toward remission feels much like an ultra: long, unpredictable and demanding, but always filled with hope.

In 2026, she returns to Harricana to take another step forward with her first 42 km trail race. As the founder of Pista Run Club, Toolia hopes to use her story to encourage women in particular to move, take their place and discover the strength and sense of community that sport can provide.

And perhaps her connection to the pack was written all along: in her Norwegian name, “Ulv” means… wolf.

A registered dietitian, content creator and runner for nearly a decade, Élodie Castonguay-Girard approaches sport with a strong belief: performance and healthy living begin with balance, enjoyment and properly fueling the body to move.

A former university cross-country and track athlete with Université Laval’s Rouge et Or, Élodie has explored nearly every distance, from the 800 metres on the track all the way to the marathon. After several years in a competitive environment, she now approaches running with greater freedom and a more personal definition of performance.

Her next adventure is trail running. The UTHC 20 km will introduce her to a new world where enjoyment, personal growth and community are at the heart of the experience.

Through her work and her @elodiesfood platforms, Élodie also encourages thousands of people to move, fuel themselves properly and develop a balanced relationship with sport. She brings a positive voice for healthy, active living and for the growing presence of women on trail-running start lines.

Just two years ago, Nicolas Sarganis-Bourdon began making sport a real part of his everyday life. Since then, he has completed six half marathons, a marathon and his first 60 km ultra. He shares that progression with authenticity and humour, with one goal in mind: inspire others to get moving and give themselves permission to take on new challenges.

An aviation professional and student in the field, Nicolas balances a busy career, an active social life and his training. He represents a new generation of athletes who aren’t necessarily chasing performance at all costs, but rather personal growth, balance and the enjoyment that comes from making progress.

At 29, he will take on the UTHC 42 km Saint-Siméon this year as his next major trail-running challenge.

His role as an ambassador also carries a deeply personal meaning. Nicolas hopes to use his UTHC journey to support the multiple sclerosis cause, a disease that touched his family closely with the passing of his mother.

Through his journey and his @flyavecnico community, Nicolas carries a simple message: it’s never too late to start moving, take on a challenge and discover where the adventure can lead.
