Johanie Béland

Johanie Béland started trail running when one of her Cégep teachers encouraged her to register for the 24 km Grand Duke Trail in 2019. To her surprise, she finished 2^nd in the women’s competition. This event was the beginning of a beautiful love story with the trails, spurring her on to compete in various races and to develop a passion for long distances.  

She feels most at home in the woods, with her running shoes on. Her summers are a festival of races and sporting events, where she mixes triathlon and ultra-trail competitions. In 2022, she finished 4^th in the women’s competition on the Trail du Grand-Duc 50 km and 4^th in the elite women’s race of the Trail La Clinique Du Coureur 50 km. That same year, she took 2^nd at the UTHC 65 km.

She wants to inspire others to trust themselves and dive into what they love even if it’s scary. Finishing 2^nd in the event last year, she’ll have her sights set on 1^st place in this year’s UTHC 65 km. But she mostly just wants to have fun.
